Greetings Brethren,
As I sit down to write my last message as Worshipful Master, I am truly humbled by the experience. Reflecting upon the honor which was bestowed upon me, and the things that we as a lodge have accomplished, they will be among the most cherished memories of my life. I’ve seen men working together, smoothing over any differences, and focusing intensely on the future of the lodge. Without the officers and the brethren on the sidelines, none of this would have happened. To them, I say, you truly are the strength and support of our Lodge.
On a personal level, I’ve learned a great deal about myself and others. I’ve accomplished some items that I felt were important to the lodge, and left a few things on my “TO DO” list. I was proud, I was humbled, and at some point I felt every emotion in between the two. There has been a long standing, and running joke that the WM of Mozart Lodge #121, always ends up with a new job, new car, or he ends up moving during his year. Well in my case none of these are true; however I do have a new lady in my life, and that is a very good thing.
November was, again, a nice month for Mozart Lodge. Your officers did a great job on the 1st section of the FC degree at the GLI, then they did even better conferring it at Rising Sun Lodge #15 in Haddonfield. I’d like to thank the members who attended the GLI; on a percentage basis, Mozart Lodge was one of the best represented lodges!
Throughout this year, I’ve asked you to get involved. My motto has been: “Live your Masonry, have fun, and enjoy it”, I’ve asked you to come out to lodge, spend time with your brethren, witness our degrees, always remain your own man and to make your own choices. If there was something about the lodge you didn’t like, change it. These are all precepts which hope will continue long after I’m gone and forgotten.
Following these ideals, we have moved forward in just about every direction possible this year. With your support of Bro. Niessner (in the event of his election), we will continue that progress next year, and the year after, and the year after… From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Michael F Ohr Jr. – Worshipful Master
PS. It took me a year, but I finally got your attention!
