Dear Brother,
As one year ends and another approaches, we are inspired to reach for higher goals in the year to come. Resolutions are easily made, but difficult to put into practice. That which we plan with great thought and care is often forgotten among the duties of our every day life.
Among the duties of every day life to the Master Mason is his duty to remember those in need, and to provide them with a portion of the blessings we have received from the Supreme Architect of the Universe. However, there are those who may be well provided for in the things of this world, but who are poor in spirit. They do not need help from our material blessing, but help from within our souls. To them we should be sharing a portion of our time, rather than a part of our wealth.
Our lives are so consumed with our daily vocations, the care of our families and loved ones, and what ever other activities we may be involved in that we find little, if any time, to honor our Masonic obligations to assist a Brother who may need a few moments of our time.
In 2008, let us resolve to honor the Masonic obligations that we assumed when we were raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason, and to give of our time to help, aid and assist others.
For Master Masons, there can be no greater honor that to fulfill our obligations to the gentle craft that we are privileged to be members of, and to give of ourselves to Brethren in need.
May you and your family have a Blessed Holiday Season, and Best Wishes for the year 2008.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Jack Daugherty, Worshipful Master
